INDIGLO'S, REVERSE, OR NEEDLES....oh my!

i have SE white gauges which look pretty good but i'm trying to get the blue light idea in my car and i dont think i want the indiglo's, i'm very interested in reverse indiglo's and super interested in the needles but not sure which would look better. I like my gauges right now except they arent blue but still look great at night...thats why the needles might give me the right feel but i love the reverse...ahh, what would u guys choose....

^^^mmmmm combination wouldnt hurt either

Definitely go with the needles and reverse gauges!!!!!
If I didn't have a 98 with orange needles, I would have gone with both, but I was limited to just the gauges, which look good too.

That pic you posted above says it all, go with those. They are gorgeous..

I just bought the indeglow needles from another org member. I think it will look hot with the stock background in my 97 SE. The only problem is Im not the greatest on installing stuff, especially somethin like that...so meccanoble, let me know which ones you get and if you go to get it installed somewhere, I will go with you...maybe two will knock down the price

hey tzmanles, i go to Pearl96max to get my stuff installed. he actually has an extra set of reverse indiglo's...i might order the needles and just have both installed...i'm really debating between reverse and needles or just needles. I'm DEFINITELY getting needles. Mine are orange too (i have SE) but i hear u can just scrape off orange and use needles...here's an old pic of my gauges before i got my aluminum bezel....

i like the look in day and night but wnat to get some blue to match interior at night...wouldn't needles do the trick?

Hmmm I just saw Pearl96max last night at the meet, i didnt know to ask him. Someone said that you will need to sand down the orange needles first in order to make the blue indeglows work. I am not sure. I think Im going to just get the needles. Even though I havent seen the reverse and needles done, I think it will be too much goin on. I just want to do something small to accent the dash. Maybe if you go to get yours done, I can come along and do mine also if thats cool with u guys...

I would go with just the needles..

I had the reverse indiglos with needles, and it was too bright for my tastes.. then the fuse blew in the gauges and I'm happier with just the needles.

now, if you can find the reverse guages without that nasty center circle thing (ie, jst the numbers light up reverse indiglo) those would look hot with the needles..

oh, and definitely sand the backs off the needles.. that's my next project even though I have white needles already..

Tino98Max, man I took off my Entire Guage Complex, and I had all wires disattached and then I still needed to sodder the Harness of some type inside behind the Dash and Gauges, Man these Damn Reverse Glow guages are a Huge Pain in the @ss, and if any of you can do it, will Congradultions because i would consider it a HUGE feet. Also, I live in Florida in Boca Raton, if you want you can swing by if you live close and I can show you how to take off the Entire Guage Consel. But, im not sure if I can do the soddering as i still haven't done it my self. I am thinking of just paying premium price to let some Rip offs do it.

Neat huh? I put them in myself. It took me along time to get into the gauge cluster because it was my first time but putting in the light rings was simple. Taking out and putting back the needles is a b****, be careful if you do it yourself you have to position them in the same spot you took them out. I bought them at www.importintelligence.com

2-color (blue & green) reverse indiglos with stock needles

yeah, the glare does get annoying after a long drive, but they still kick @ss IMO...i'd consider the needles too, but i'm tired of dismantling the gauge cluster.

they look way better in person!

Too bad there's only the hyper red kit for the 98-99

Seems like our needles are thoroughly red.

It took me like 4 hours lol but this is why. I went in there not knowing how to remove anything. I basically was learning as I was taking everything a part(broke the clear plastic cover). Also, I was so scared that i was going to break the needles or the little metal shafts that hold the needles. On top of that you have to take out and put back the needles at their correct calibration points. The intelliglow isn't a new needle, it's called a light ring that you put over the metal shaft where the needle sits on. Putting on the light rings took 5 minutes. The next day i had to fix the tachometer and spedometer needles because i pushed them in to far when i was putting them back so they weren't moving. Yup from now on im going to read all instructions completely because all that time spent wasn't worth it. So if you have experience and find it easy to get into the guages then this mod could take you only half hour to an hour.

Are you're needles thoroughly red? They might just be painted red on the back, the whole thing might actually be clear. If its painted on the back then u can sand it off with fine sand paper and then paint the back white and you can get any color.

Funny part is i got them from Custommaxima. I was ****ed at first cause they weren't the ones i ordered (totally diff. than shown on their site), but after installation i loved them. I actually preferred these over those ones with the aqua circle in the middle beforehand, but was having similar troubles finding them. I heard you can find them on ebay , but last i checked there were none.

I wouldn't recommend reverse indiglo, you get sick of it after awhile. I always leave my indiglo off as it shows in first pic. I rarely turn on my reverse indiglo.
but LED needles are nice.
