3.5 Oil Pump

Good news, The oil pump from the 3.5L VQ fits in the 3.0L motor. It has a higher output for guys with SC and turbos. How do I know? because we just installed one in my engine and we measured the internals and the 3.5 definitely has a thicker impeller! All holes line up and it's like an oem install. For some reason the 3.5 is $14.00 cheaper then the 3.0.

Makes sense because the 3.5 has under piston oil squirters.

Before fixing what ain't broke, are SC and turbo guys having problems with inadequate oil flow?

Shoot, for $14.00 cheaper, would this have any negative effects on a NA max?

I'm not sure what you mean but if one has their motor apart, wouldn't it be prudent to put a higher volume pump in to get more oil to an engine that produces much more heat and therefore needs more oil??

Also, because of the way the cams and lifters are lubricated it really makes sense to increase oil volume because the passage ways in the cams are tiny and the oil must flow thru the cams to get to the lifters. The rear cylinder head is really prone to lack of lubrication because this is the furthest area from the pump!

makes alot of sense so does the Supra TT pistons those have oil squirters too underneath. I saw one that was blown sitting on the guys desk. Dude busted it going 140Plus on the freeway.

Im bringing this back this should be stickied in the all motor forum.

I believe the 3.0 oil pump is not very good at high rpms so the 3.5 one is a good solution that will work.
My pump went and i will be using the 3.5 pump. With my next project
