intake and exhaust

I've been reading all your post and am interested in doing the Intake MOD with some sort or cold air intake system, also possibly a Y-pipe and better exhaust. My car is running great right now but could use more power, the only thing is; how is this going to affect how my car runs? Am i going to have to adjust anything with the ECU because of the way its taking in more air and a bigger exhaust? Will I have to adjust anything on the TB? Is my car gonna iddle rough or still be smooth, with just more power? Thanks for the advise in advance guys!

You won't have to adjust anything on the ECU or the TB. The car should continue to run smooth. The car will get louder as a result of both of those mods.

Good! One more question; what brand of intake is better?, I saw one from INJEN, but it was really pricey. Any recommendations?

Look under performance... btw, Read through all the stickies at the top of the 4th gen forums - they will answer a lot of these questions and a whole lot more that you haven't even thought of yet.

There's a GD going on right now for Place Racing CAIs (the only true CAI for our cars). They're about half price at $129

just make sure you keep your air temperature sensor otherwise you will throw a code for it... its located on the bottom half of the black intake filter box so if you remove that make sure you take it off and keep it on your car. just install it after the filter or even just leave it hanging. if you do not keep it, you will throw a code but your car wont break because of it so dont worry about that.

Thanks for the good advice. By the way, what does CAI stand for? Is that the name of the company that makes them?

e-bay has injen-style CAIs for 50 bucks shipped. I put one in my car a week ago, and I love it.

Mine fit Perfectly, the bracket even lined up perfect with one of the bolts on the motor for mounting.

They all do the same...basically nothing but sound.

Get an intake for the sound but you won't notice much, if any, difference. People who talk about "faster throttle response" and "slight gain in the top/low end" need to stop .

....... and this from an injen owner I'd get it again in a second, but don't get any intake expecting to "feel gains."
