2 questions.......
2 questions.......
Does the 99 max have a Gas light? I've heard on older maxes that you would have to be really low on gas for it to come on, so i ran the car bone dry, and it still didn't come on. I have a 16-gallon tank and ,no lie, i just put 15.958 gallons in the car, with no gas light.
Also, what does the 168 bulb in the tailights do? It only comes on when i put on my parking lights, and has nothing to do with back-up, hazards or turn signals, so what does it do?
And, i realize i'll prolly get this thread deleted for this, i went to see Final Destination 2 last nite, and before the movie, an ad for Fast and the furious 2 came on. I groaned while the rest of the audience cheered, except for one part during the preview. If you remember the first movie, one of the big stunts was when the civics drove under the big rigs with the trucks still moving. Well, a mustang tries it in the new one, and promptly gets run over. Totaled. Destroyed. Then a second later, a vette comes flying into the wreckage. When i saw that mustang get trashed, the whole theater gasped and i jumped to my feet, clapping and cheering. I think i'll see the movie just for that one scene, otherwise, it reeks of rice.

Besides, doesen't the car hold like .7 of a gallon if you fill it up to the spout? That would mean i put almost 15.3 gallons in there, which meant that i had a little over seven tenths of a gallon in there, and the light still didn't come on.
my gas light blinks once it is just above the E line...and I mean just above.

My '99 GLE has a gas light. I do not like to see it come on. My wife doesn't mind however. It reminds her to stop at a gas station before she's walking.

i realize that, but i was driving on fumes....if i revved it more than 2k rpms, the car would shudder. I've run out of gas before while driving, and i know what it feels like, and that's what it felt like.

I don't know if the max does it, but even at E most cars still have a little over a gallon left in them. Sort of a "just in case" thing.
