Question about intake manifold
Question about intake manifold
Recently, an idea had popped into my head. In the 2000 and 2001 Maximas they have the same engine as my car but with 30 more hp. Nissan just boored the intake manifold. I found a intake manifold from a 2001 in a junkyard in PA. The guy will sell it to me for cheap but before I buy it, will everything bolt up? Will my check engine light stay on? and is swapping the intake manifolds easy, meduim, hard, or don't even bother? I can do slight modifications but nothing major. Thanks for the help
hmmm...i'm not sure about the thing bolting up but buy it if its not too expensive and then you could maybe examine it and see if it'll fit. i haven't read up too much on this tho. if it doesn't fit you can sell it to someone w/ a 5th that doesn't want any downtime on their car that might wanna bore it out or polish it or whatever.
I believe that the coolant passages in the block and gasket is different and also it might be more difficult to rig up the variable intake wiring so Its up to you if you want to do some experimenting.
They did more than just "boor" the intake manifold. It's antirely different system. This swap would definitley fall under the "too difficult to bother" category.
If you want the same gains, get the MEVI that was designed for the 4th gen.
