Happily Surprised

just put on my air intake.. OMG, I dont really notice much performance gain, but i can feel a slight difference, especially in the 2500-4000 rpm range.

About 3000rpm the car has a deep throaty sound. I almost "relieved" my self when i hit 3000 rpm in second and the engled growled. couldnt believe it.. sound so much healthier.

I drove around last night for about 1 hour, and put about 80 miles on the car. one thing i do notice is i am getting better gas mileage. I barely moved from full mark and got 80 miles on it. Normally i would have burned 1/8 of a tank to 1/4 of a tank. is this normal?

It is ausome. especially seeing how I am going on a road trip to upstate new york in 9 days.

just some generic from autozone.. the box was written in japanese, and it said in english in small letters

"Made Specifically for Honda, Acura, Nissan"

It was only 20.00 LOL

but for 20.00, like i said, I can feel a slight increase around to 2500-3000 range. And the depe throaty sound is unbelievable!! I had a little bit of difficulty getting it on. The gasket would not come off the stock air box cause of the rivets, but I got the rivets off and was able to use it. it was bent a little, I just bent it back.

Next Stop. Y-Pipe from BudgetExhaust.com.

seriously, I thought my gas mileage would drop w/ my air intake (cone filter + frankencar midpipe) but it didn't! Even w/ my greddy cat-back installed, my 96' (144k miles) get's at least 400 miles a tank! So far this week, i've driven 411 miles but the gas light came on... damn i love maximas... the best economical car =)
