After a long...i mean LONG (order was placed on sept. 11th) wait, I got my frankencar w/ apexi yesterday. You should of seen the joy on my face. Steve is a good guy, the delay was mainly due to the backorder but also stupid paypal screwed up. If i never contacted steve, i never would of got it.

Anyways, I would like to know for those who have the frankencar w/ apexi setup, am I going to be using every single part that came in the package?? What I mean is, there are fasteners and such that are from frankencar, and in the separate box with the apexi filter there are more parts in there. Am i going to be using everything?

I want to do it right the 1st time so any help is appreciated. I also plan to clean my TB while im at it.
Is a 1,500 rpm idle at startup normal?
After driving around, it then idles at 1000. Normal?? (I just recently installed, new gauges, im thinking that the needles somehow became uncalibrated)

 

Your idle seems a little high. Mine is at about 650-700rpms. I have a frankencar with an apexi filter and from what I remember you use all the parts. Just follow the directions and you'll be fine. Good luck.

 

My 5spd has a 1500rpm warmup then when its warm....its down to around 1000-900, then lower then that later on even.

 

Oh ok. i thought it stayed at 1000rpm. Yeah, Its fine then.
