Does anyone know how to change the light in the ashtray on a 96 Maxima????

 

1) Pop up the plastic around the shifter (should be very simple).
2) Unplug the cigarette lighter and set plastic piece aside.
3) There should be a screw right next to the ashtray on the left side. Remove it.
4) Open ashtray and pull straight out. But be careful, it is holding into the console by two small clips on the right. You don't want to lose these. It won't want to come out easily and you'll have to give it a little tug, but it will come out.
5) There will be a white plug on the side. Remove that plug and the bulb is there.

I don't know the size, so if you're trying to replace it, I can't help you there. If you can get it out and take it to a Radio Shack or somethin, they should be able to help you out.
