Are you running AGX or Tokico's?

I've had quite a few inquires from org members wanting to change struts and springs.

Any comments you have on your setup would be appreciated.
I'm looking for ride quality and noise / reliability issues.
Also mileage on your setup may be helpful too.

This will be used to evaluate struts and shocks.

Lets keep this short and sweet.

KYB AGX w/ new shock mouts for the front (and rear I believe) and H&R Springs.

I do notice a bit harsher ride than stock, but then again it's better looking that stock.

My settings are 2 in the front and 4 in the rear.

I haven't finger tested in the last month, but here's what it looked like back in early december :

Rear:

And YES.. I notice the difference between the 2

Eibach/Tokico

Over 2 years old, 20k-30k miles???

No leaking of struts, they seem to be in good shape.

Ride quality is stiff, but not bouncy.

Any lower drop than 1.5" I would not recomend Tokicos

Tokicos have gotten a bad name on the org. when used with lowering sprins, but I have had no problems.

AGX/Eibach - The ride is quite firm and the car doesn't roll over bumps or dips like it did stock. The handling is exceptional. I started off set at 2/4 and went to 1/3. You could tell the ride did soften up, but was still more firm than stock. I have about 3.5K on the combo. Looks great with a "two finger" gap all around.

ride is much better than i thought it would be. i usually set my AGX's to 3/6 since the roads here are well maintained. ride is not as cushy as stock, but by no means is it harsh. btw, i also just did the bushings and it rides a lot smoother.

H&R and Tokico blues.

Ive had this setup since 9/98 and still rides fine. If anything my ride got smoother as the years progressed. Im gonna go with AGX's in the spring with all new OEM hardware as well.

Im thinking about goin either Intrax or Sprints(cutting rear coils) what do you guys think??

This is the kind of post I'm looking for. The good old H&R / Tokico combo which I think is the best setup for both looks, ride comfort and handling. The Toks are good shocks, lets not forget about them so quickly. Lots of guys on here complain about bouncy rides even with the AGX's, it's a firm bounce. You never hear that about the H&R/Tok combo or Eibach Tok combo.

Sure you have failures, but a few AGX's and GR2's have failed now as well.

actually you made me think about the AGX's. My boy Tony's max does have the "bounce" your talking about, hes on Sprint/AGX. Its not a bad bounce, but its still there, my max has ZERO bounce

....maybe ill just replace my Tokicos with new ones and keep my H&R's and be happy riding for another 4 years

Before: H&R/Tokico for 1 year loved it. Stock feel but yet firm.

Now: B&G/Tokico for about 3 months now. Stock feel, firm and drops me a tad lower.
