a couple of days ago my car got stolen, and it was involved in a hit and run. the cops still havent found it. ill post more once i get more info about it.

 

Oh damn that sucks. I hope you get it back, or get a new one. Did you have any mods on it?

 

and if you did have mods...i hope you have the receipts for them for the insurance company..

 

cops have 30 days to find it, if not insurance gives me money for it. all i had was an intake and cd player

 

Man, sorry to hear about ur lost. That sucks really bad having ur car stolen. Knowing it was in a hit and run makes u think the worst. I'd start searching for a new car, cause if it was me, I wouldn't want something that was stolen and abused. You never know what the ba$tard did to ur car. I hope the best for you.

Insurance companies have to give you fair market value for your car. Start finding ads in the paper and such (try dealers for higher prices) for cars close to yours. Remember, the amount is negotiable!

 

Edmunds is a great site for market value too.

 

if it makes you feel any better, there was recently a story on the radio how some guy had his old sentra or max (i forget which) stolen, and the guys that stole it wound up fixing it up, then the cops found it and the guy got it back. If i remember correctly, the car was a piece of ****, it barely ran, he needed a lot of work done to it, etc. And the gys that stole it fixed the engine, put a new muffler on it, and put a new head unit and speakers in it. Then like 2 days later, the cops spotted it, chased the guys down and caught them, then returned the car to it's orignal owner. When the guy got his car back, he couldn't believe it. He was amazed that the thing was able to lead a chase...until he got to check the car out. Now his car is in great condition and he has a new system on top of it. Hopefully things will go as good for you.

wow, sorry bro. that happened to me in philly someone stole my 96 altima, 29 days later it was found abandoned in delaware. Ins. totalled it. (bought my maxima after that so thats a plus) player I'd start looking for a new car. Ins. estimates everything from paint damage, underneath damage, interior (seats locks ignition etc.) things i couldnt imagine since its so small. I got the value of my car (before it was stolen) lots of paper work. Hope the car is paid off. Even if they find it, i'd trade it in. Its never the same feeling. best regards....
