*pic* Did I Cut My Rear Bump Stops Correctly?

I was just wondering if I cut my rear stock bump stops correctly. They don't snap in like they did uncut, and just fall down on the strut. Did I cut them correctly?

Uncut:

You should have cut in between the dust cover and the bump stop, then glued them back together. The top ring of rubber sits on a lip on the shock piston. You've cut that off so the bump stop/dust cover can no longer hold itself up.

Try to Zip Tie the thing tightly to the top of the shaft, that may hold it in place.

Actually I still have my original bump stops. Should I cut off the top lip of rubber of these and glue it on to the top of the cut bump stops? And should I trim the cut bump stops a little more so that there's only one full rubber ring?

And how would you glue it on. Do you need super glue to keep it together?

Good, then you can save them.

I'd glue that one good ring righ onto the dust cover. Find some 2 part epoxy that bonds very well on rubber surfaces. Let it stand overnight before you reinstall it.

You should be fine.
