Dam! Dam! Dam!

Wifey just called and told me some idiot ran through a light and hit the MAX. THe wife's fine but the MAX is out, she said it wouldn't start so I had to get a tow truck. Now. DO you guys think the insurance company will try to be cheap and total my car it's a 96 GXE with 143k miles on it. I am getting it towed to the house so I can take my wheels off and stereo out. I haven't seen the results yet still waiting!!!!! Dam!!!!

I feel your pain, but yelling out the name of a structure meant to hold back large amounts of water doesn't help!

Also, it's hard to know what the ins will due because you haven't described the damage.

Look up KBB value for your car stock and then think if the repair is going to meet or exceed 75% of that value. If it does, they will probably total it.

Front end is smashed pretty good. I don't know if the frame is bent though. After I take all my stuff off tomorrow I'll get it towed to a collision center.

Sounds totalled. Negotiate with the insurance company to get as much $ as you can.

I just finished taking my wheels off my car . I tried to start the car and it didn't do anything. Is there some sort of safety mechanism that has to reset.

sorry to hear the bad news man - most importantly no one was hurt - the insurance company will most likely total the car and give you about 7-8K ...sorry about the loss

Ouch - sorry to hear that. They'll total it with that many miles.

Someone in the 5th gen forum posted a link to a site that gives better valuations on used cars than KBB. You might try it so you have the info. in-hand.

www.cars.com

Good luck!!!

Anyone know what can be keeping the car from starting? I have power but the starter doesn't make a sound.

I had just ordered front drilled/slotted rotors(irotors) and a Maf adapter. Will be selling if they total it? Keep and eye out in the For Sale forum.

Nah! My MAX is blue and I don't wanna start selling parts till I get the word from my insurance company. No one knows what can be causing my car not to start?
