Clearance Lights on 99 SE-L

I noticed tonight that when I put my turning blinker on, the clearence lights do not become brighter, as I thought they were supposed to. They just stay that dim brown color no matter what I do. Are they just supposed to stay that dim level all the time? If so, thats pretty dumb if you ask me. Why bother putting them there if they don't aid in turning?

That is so stupid. Oh well. Thanks for the input.

On the 95-96s the corner lights do light up when you put on your blinker. On the 97-99s they don't. Nissan changed this for some reason, but I can't tell you why If you really want to you can do a rewire to make it functional again.

short'em

Short the two terminals on the bulbs together and
they will be really bright all the time. Really
helps. Remember to change the fuse to a higher amp...
Another cheap, satisfying mode...

How do we re-wire a 1997 clearance light to work exactly like the 95,96??. I know I can switch bulb around by trimming tab, or switching two wires around to make ligt brighter. But not the same.
