20 inch rims with drop
I was wondering if I were to get some twenties on my maxima, would I still be able to lower the car without wheel well modifications. I was wanting to get sprints. OH yeah they would be 8.5 inches wide. Thanks

20's
Ive seen a bunch of 4th gens with 20"s in chicago, ive even heard of someone talking about putting massive 22"s I dont think you can lower it if you put them, it akes your car look like a 4x4, just get 18's and drop it about 1.5"s, You cant speed with big rims cause of rim action

Its something technical like that...its proven as well, bigger rims=slower times. period.

PS. Also the only thing that "plus sizing" does is keep the speedo and ODO in check, thats all.

If you really wanted to get technical, you could call it rotational inertia. There are a bunch of mathematical equations that could be whipped out, but in laymen terms, more mass (weight) spread over a larger diameter (15's vs 22's), requires more force to reach a certian RPM (speed) in a certain amount of time (acceleration). Basically...you will accelerate a hell of alot quicker with stock 15's than you ever would with 22's. If anybody wants a more in-depth explaination, I encourage you to enroll in your closest mechanical engineering school and take notes....

245/40 will be taller but not as wide.

It depends on your boys rim offsets also. If its going to rub, most likely to rub in the front. I believe if your boys offsets is around +30et to +40et it should clear the fenders, calipers, and no rub. You have to role your rear fenders also.
