A limited-slip was offered for certain Canadian max's. A lsd would be quite nice....

No road worthy vehicle could use a true lockup diff anyway. Imagine trying to take a turn with both the inner and outer wheels turning exactly the same. Can you say premature wear on tires and suspension parts? Posi-traction, limited slip, traklock...it's all the same stuff, but with different names due to the different manufacturers copyrights on these products. Now the lockers themselves...well, that's another story.
I just got an LSD tranny out of a 97 Infinity I-30 and what a difference on Turns...I do have a lot of handleing stuff for my car, but dam* what a difference. You can actually feel the transfer of power because the locker that they used on the LSD tranny for the maxima, is a Viscus LSD...so it slipps as it it switches to the other wheel. you can sometimes feel the delay of power but of course I feel everything
Launches were improved but you still get alot of wheel spin if you launch too high but both spin now
(we all have done it)

I prefer honda's name for LSD - "active torque transfer system"
