95-96 reverse red/clears
As we all know red clears are hard to come by, and making them yourself on the 95-96 is about impossible, the only option is covering about everything in red.
So that gave me an idea, if the amber part is stuck what about the lower red lenses. If it was possible to remove the lower half of the stock tailights (which is red) you could clear those out. Then cover the top in red like some have done. Then you would have the same red clear layout that 97-99's have. You would have to do a little rewiring but it could be worth it if it were possible.
I searched 95-96 red clear, and a billion threads came up in case this has been discussed before.
Does anyone have this set up on a 95-96 max, I was wondering what red on top and clear on bottom would look like on the 95-96, they probably would have started out clear, then painted the top of the tailights red, and rewired it.

If you were planning on attempting this procedure on the inner tails as well, which makes it 4 pieces instead of 2, then it'll probably work.
And you will have to rewire the connector so that your turns would be below, the brakes on the top, the reverse on the inners would have to be flipped as well.
Brake lights are 1157 (dual filament), so I guess you will need to flip the connectors as well.
Click on my sig link to see how I did mine.
Or you could change your trunk lid and outer tails with a 97+ and clear it out.

Maybe I'll take a look at my lights tomorrow. But the question is... Does the red come out of our lights?

He means take the red out of the bottom of our tails, making them clear. Then putting red transparent film over the yellow signals and reverse lights, thus making them the brake lights. Switch the light bulbs and connections around and thats a dam good idea. I thought of this earlier. The brake lights would be kinda thin and the signals and reverse lights would be ultra wide (err tall)....

I never thought about this.... i thought the outside plastic was red itself... is it really clear w/ only a red insert?! this would be the greatest idea ever...
