will 225/50/16 tire fit on stock 98 SE rims?
if so.. how is the sidewall? does it stick out a lot?
btw, how wide is the stock 98 SE rim? 6.5", 7"?

Yes, it'll fit. Couldn't tell you about the sidewall from experience but it will probably stick out slightly more than the stock size. IT varies between tire manufacturers though. Stock 97-99 SE wheels are 16 x 6.5".
anyone have pics with stock SE with 225/50/16s on?
i'm thinking of using bridgestone re730s on the rim.
i've had a 6.5" rim before. had 205/50/16 tires on it and the sidewall was great but i have yet to see a 22 on a 6.5"
if anyone has pics that would be great!

Previous owner of my 97 SE put 225/50/16 on stock wheels (sorry, no pics). Sidewalls not an issue. Handles great with V-rated Michelins. But I'm replacing with 225/55/16 because there is too much wheel well showing.

I have 225/50-16 Yoko AVS ES 100's on stock 99 wheels. The fit is fine. Stock Maxima's have a very large wheel gap to begin with, I didn't notice any greater change in the gap. The new set up was a huge improvment from the stock Toyo's.
i run 225/50-16 tires and have no problems... the fender gap is a little more pronounced, but i feel the added traction/contact patch is worth it
Check out my cardomain page. I have pics of 225-50-16 HTR+s on there. They are on stock rims in some pics.

phenryiv1,
looks like I might have the same problem when I switch to this size too right? Do you have a nice side shot of the entire car in broad daylight on stock rims?

thanks for the pics.
it doesn't appear to be a problem then if you have the right tire.
re730s have a pretty flat sidewall so i hope it will work out great.

These are probably the best pics I have on stock rims:Originally posted by dvpatel99se

Remember, the rims that I have now are a bit wider and have a slightly different offset, but they provide a good idea of what wheelgap will be on stock suspension.
