My vallet lights stay on when I close my door

When I close the door on my turned-off Maxima the lights that are on the doors and cieling remain on. I tried shutting the door harder and sometimes that works but occasionally the door/vallet lights turn back on and make my alarm go off. Is there a place that might be dirty or could a fuse be the problem. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

I would think one of the switches in the Door Jamb (sp?) must be bad. That must cause the lights to turn on and also fool the alarm into thinking that someone opened the door. They are those black round rubber things on every door

Not sure but try your dimmer switch on your dash. If I recall, if you turn it all the way to one side, it will turn on all your lights inside.

That's true but his go off when he slams the door shut and then eventually go on again without anyone touching the car. That leads to a bad switch (or sensor if you prefer) that is in the door.
