Can different struts be run front and rear without problems?

If different struts are used front and rear, can that cause a handling imbalance in the car?

I know from past threads that springs with different rates can unbalance the handling, but what about different rebound rates on the struts? The reason beig that I have a good deal on a PAIR of GR2s, and may not have the monrey for the other 2. Bur sometimes sets of struts are for sale in pairs. So would that throw off the handling significantly?

BTW, the springs will be H&R.

PHenry,

Just wait man, and get them all at the same time. That's the best thing to do.

When the snow goes away I may need to take a ride on the AGXs.

I woudl like the softer ride of the Toiks, but I have a decent line on a pair of front GR2s. Should I just buy 2 MORE GR2s for the rear?

You should be fine. People with KONI and AGX change the valving on their shocks/struts all the time to suit their fancy.

Depending on which pair you put on, you may increase or decrease understeer.

Well i sm running konis in the back and kyb in the front, and it handles very well. I dont think mixing brands will matter. Plus, gotta love the konis(mmmm twin tube).

Benblanco has the intrax springs and the gr2 shocks. He'll be more than willing to give you a ride, and as I will too.
