thinking about MEVI.

Now that I have the Suspension done for the truck and I'm going to have some extra money. I've been thinking about getting the MEVI. The question I have is this, How difficult is it to install? I'm no mechanic but I have some know how. I have having other people do things for me...it just doesn't seem right.
Thanks for any replys.
Kevin.

It's really not that hard, but it's relative to how much your car knowledge is in the first place. I've done 3 VIs, and even though I thought I knew exactly what was going on before doing the first it took longer than estimated.

Here's the how to:

First time doing it, give yourself a good 12 hour block - not because it really is hard, but just because you have alot of hard to reach things to mess with - but a good pair of Mechanics gloves also, or your hands will be in pain.

But no, it's not hard from a mental point of view, just alot of labor.

I've done it on my car 4 times now, and otehrs twice - I've got it down to a few hours, but the first time took forever....

one question on the MEVI. What does it really do and how much horsepower will I gain by doing this mod?
Sorry that was 2 questions. I am just wondering if I should add this to the list of items I want to do after the new springs and struts and the wheel and tires.

Very little peak hp gain, but like 40hp at 6500RPM.

I sell them, however, so I could be accused of being biased - see for yourself!

yep - Nissan part, made in Japan - but Nissan has a rule against exporting from Japan to the US for this part, hwoever. (Although Cranman has been able to get them directly from japan through connections, I believe)

So I have a Middle Eastern Company order them from Japan for me and ship them here....

They are actually pretty rare in Japan, as 90% of the Cefiros are 2.5 Liter, and that's the wrong one. they are FAR more common in the ME, on the Nissan "Maxima 3.0GV"
