Just a piece of advice !

Finally the annoying sound of my Infiniti I30 when hitting potholes and uneven roads are gone, just as advice, don't use KYB Strut Mounts in your Maxima/I30 for any reason, replace them with OEM mounts, and don't forget to replace the strut bearing when replacing strut mounts or struts regardless of condition, they make a whole different handle on our cars, and help avoid weird noises in the front suspension.

I've always said to use as much OEM suspension components as possible.
Your not the first one to complain about KYB mounts.

Buying KYB strut mounts are waste of money, $75.00 for a pair and they finally are useless ! Damn ! As njmaxseltd always said, USE as much OEM Suspension Components as you can, you'll be not dissapointed.

The OEM mounts are cheaper too.

If you already replaced the bearings, just replace the strut mounts and that's all !

what does the strut mount look like? I have KYB's and it I hear bizarre noises from my suspension. Sounds like a vibration. I did the coil wrap but it didn't work for me.

Don't waste time asking how the KYB mounts look like, just replace them with OEM strut mounts, you'll feel the difference right away, another whole world riding on new strut mounts if your struts are still good, of course, otherwise replace your struts also.

Sorry

Will be difficult to take the picture, you need to disassambly the whole front suspension (Strut, Spring, Mounts, etc) to get a picture from the strut mount, so I can't help you here !

well then what did it look like? The only thing I got with my KYB's was that strut itself and a new nut for the top of the strut to hold it to the assembly.

I have looked the OEM mounts and the KYB mounts and are very similar almost identical, but the OEM are softer than KYB and they look higher quality also. Don't worry about the looks or shape of your KYB strut mounts just replace them with OEM ones and you'll be not dissapointed for sure. The mechanic at the stealership told me that the KYB strut mounts look like they are just worn but painted, so don't trust KYB strut mounts any more, I'll not do it for sure.
