plz help
i bought two speakers for my car today for the back, they are JBL, 160 Watts. is this make any good? second question, is there any way to find out if they are fake, we played them and the sound was good but i was just wondering. now i want an amp.
if i bought speakers for the front as well, would they be the same size and shape, that is 6.5 inches ROUND? please let me know. btw, i have a 95 gxe. are the front speakers a lot tougher to install???
PS: if JBL sucks PLEASE Let me know, i will try buying another make such as kenwood or alpine for the front.
i have this same exact post on the audio sec, but am posting it here because nobody seems to answer questions there.

You get what you pay for
I'm not a speaker expert. I had built myself a system about 4 years ago for an 83 Accord hatchback. I used 6.5" Pioneers in the back and 5.25" Infinities in the doors with a 160 Watt Kenwood Deck, and I had two 12" Rockford Fosgates in the back with 50 Watts going to each. Not a killer system, but better than most.
Now, JBL is OK. I'm not sure what kind you have exactly, but they have stuff to the same quality as some Kenwood and Alpine. Just like both companies, the put out great stuff, mid range stuff, and pure ****. The true test is what you pay for them. There really is some reason to store pricing. Go to http://crutchfield.com to check out speakers/prices/info. You can get a good idea of where your speakers are in the pack.
If your looking for your rear speakers to put out a lot of punch you might want to make sure they have a LARGE magnet. Larger magnets allow for more driving base (like the Bose in my 99 SE)
Ultimately, the true test for speaker sound comes from the deck/amp. A good deck with a good amp will make any speaker sound great. The better the amp, the better the sound quality you'll get from your speakers. Also, the better the connection you have (i.e. gold leads) the better the sound quality. Just like engine mods, there are infinite levels of what people might concider "good".
