pictures, installed carbon fiber altezza gen2

I have pictures to show how they look on a 99 Sterling Mist.

Can't post them because of the 50k limit but goto the link
below to see them. I also have some pictures comparing them
to the stock tail lights.

Carbon Fiber Altezza Gen2 on 99 Sterling Mist

Note: the car is really dirty in the pictures but the car color
hides it well.

i have mixed feelings. let's see some pics from farther away. what did you need to modify to get them to fit?? i haven't heard of any real fitment issues before with them but maybe it's just with the new ones? howcome you didn't go the red/clear route, wanted to try something different?

i think it could look nice but i'd need to see more pics from farther away. i love the color of your car, nice choice!

Personally, I like it. I'm not a fan of alezzas though. I'd rather get cleared our rears though.

Smooth...!

Hey..I think they are sweet..! You know I have not been into the mod thing but im on the move now..i guess its becuase the car is older, there is no way in hell i can afford a 350z, or any other sports car...i know to bad so sad ...but i got to checking out the altezza lights to replace my stock on a 1997 Nissan Maxima SE ..my car color is artic pearl white, and the chrome looking altezza didnt really appeal to me... i like the change ... i think they look cool and best of all from my point of view is you can stock pile parts .. can you change the lights back and forth as your mood changes? I prefer the carbon fibers ...i have a white max and 5% limo tint..and the se really contrast white vs.black so I would prefer the carbons to continue the blend of colors .. i saw those on ebay ..as well , but have not made a move... i would prefer to find out who make the very best top quality carbon fiber altezza's if anyone knows post it here ...so when i do get a few dimes i can drop them in the carbon fiber altezza bucket ...what was up with the install? im not sure about warming up the old chain saw to destroy any fitment issues...ha ha !

I'm not a fan of Altezza's myslef but those look pretty good but I don't think anything comes close to the red/clear tails, but not bad.

Don't really like altezza's due to every civic having them. But the carbon fiber ones don't look bad.

they do, all you have to do is buy a 97-99 trunk and plug the wires in upside down (you know what i mean) to make it work correctly, you know how the brake/turning signal and brake/reverse are the opposite of each other between the 95-96 and 97-99 ... that might not make much sense to you, but it does to me

first night impressions

drove around last night. here are some comments:

1. looks best at night with the LED lights (brake lights) on
because they match the stock spoiler. Really like the LEDs.
Like the patterns they make.

2. looks better farther away because I don't see the gaps between
the black trim and the car.

To answer some questions, yes, I can go back to stock. As for
clearing out the yellow, I didn't like the resulting white look.
It just doesn't have that diamond cut look which are used by
newer cars (from the factory). If they offered those then I'd
have gone with that.

As for fitment. I have problems with the left side. The mounting
studs were drilled to close together and would not fit. There
was not enough space to redrill the studs on the lights so I had
to enlarge the holes on the car (cut, dremel). It should still hold
the stock lights. Still, there are gaps between the black trim
and the body panels. Also, the inside of the lights that are
exposed in the trunk did not have the same protection for trunk
contents and mounts for wires. I also had to get new nuts because
the studs were too long and the stock nuts were capped (to prevent
cuts).

Overall, if the studs haven't been off (bad QA check and my bad luck)
then the install would have been much easier (simple nuts and tie wraps).

enjoy,
rob

^ LOL!

Sorry to kinda drag this off topic but,

are there any decent looking Altezza's for the 95/96's? All the Ebay ones seem a little...cheap. Not nearly as nice as the ones for 97/99. I normally hate altezza's but the gen 2 are pretty hot with the right color matching.

get the ebay ones, paint the insides to match your body color and replace the round red lense with a round led tail light from a semi - 12 volt easy hook up.
