Trade 4th gen for Skyline R32
#1
Who would trade a 99 SE loaded for an R32? I'm trying to locate any skyline for sale in the NE region. Anyone know of places for sale? Any info on the Skyline would be a help, especially if it's reliable. I guessing I could only afford an older one.

Everything I can
First, availability in NE region of the US.
Second, pricing...
Third, durability. I don't wan't to lose my 99 SE with 20k miles for an unrliable skyline that is too expensive to repair all the time.
Fourth, cost of parts due to rare nature of the skyline.
Fifth, cost of mods due to rare nature of the skyline.
Sixth, performance compared to R33 and R34. I don't want to kick my self for not getting the most bang for the buck.
Thanks

The only place that I know of that sells the Skyline here in the states is a company called MotoRex, you can checkout thier site at http://www.skylinegtr.com. There should be a list of all available models and how much they will set ya back.

as you probably know, the R32 GTS-t is a single turbo skyline or a GTR twin turbo which would u be looking at??
the R32 GTR is the fastest of all skylines standard, it weighs the least and is a very solid vehicle. many prefer this to the others.
the GTS-t is also a great car, the lightest of all skylines, hoosts a 2L straight 6 (RB20DET)
I'm not sure about availability for performance mods, however, i know that an intercooler, 1 bar of boost, and a good exhaust system, will ripp your ***** off (sorry) on either car.
decide which one and i'll tell you more. you can expect the GTR to be double the price of the other.
it depends really how far you want to take your modifying and how fast you want to go.
the GTR is good for an easy 6-700hp minimum
the GTS-t for around 400hp.

Not looking to buy from California
I've been to that http://www.skylinegtr.com./ site before. Just the usual info. I'm looking to know of any clubs/organizations in the NE that can get me more info about buying a used R32, either from a dealership of some sort, or from a private owner.

Cannot afford yet but...
when the time comes, I'de rather not fly out to Cali and drive back to Phily. What I'm realy looking for is some Nissan dealerships in the NE that may have one in stock due to some surcumstances and/or an organization such as maxima.org that has a list of NE registerd skylines and a sales post. I would realy like to drive one and have a closer look before I try to fly anywhere to buy blindly.

the faster the better
Like I said earlier, I'm one of those people who hates not getting the best first. I'm still pissed about getting the auto 99 SE, but it was such a good deal that I couldn't pass it up. Ultimately, I would rather have the GTR, but If I can get a great deal on a GTS, I might go that way first, and get a GTR some time down the road. What kinda info do you have?

ok let me tell you this
No dealer will have them by any circumstances, why well if they are offered here then that place in Cali is the only one, besides the black market. No Dealer here in the U.S. offers or has them in stock for any reason. If so they would only be for show and not for sale. They are only available in australia and japan and other countries except ours. You wont find one in the North east unless someone already got it from the black or grey market and got it from Japan themselves. So cut your chances short you wont find one here, The states wont have them for sale but I heard that the new Skyline for 2002 will be here. Yes I read it in Car and Driver. We will be getting a watered down version of the newest skyline for 2002. So that will be the only way that dealers will have them. Sorry to bust your bubble guy. There are no R32's on this continent at any dealer.

i seriously reckon that you import one, even though it would be right hand drive It would maybe work out cheaper. R32's are cheap as chips in Japan or even Australia or New Zealand.
Basically either way you go your getting a solid car witha solid engine. The only problem (not a biggy) with these cars is that u have to run really good fuel when u start upping boost, even a little, as they tend to ping easy (pre detonation) with 96 ron fuel and below. The GTR engine is pretty much bullet proof, capable of pulling 500hp+ with stock internals! and just new bolt-ons.
I'll tell you the going price here in Aus for these cars.
GTR US$20,000
Gts-t US$10,000
in japan they are half that. however you'd have to put up with right hand drive, from either destination.

Heh if you not willing to have the car shipped from Cali or fly out to Cali and ship it back your not lookin for a Skyline. A person that buys a skyline don't drive no 99 maxima thats like jumping from a pinto to a hummer.
You don't sound like you want to buy a skyline or really know what you have to do to get a skyline you act like you can walk down the street and see 10 of em. I doubt the east coast has more than 2 skylines.
And you comment about the dude starting a family and selling his skyline to funny hahahahaha

I do want a skyline, but have a phobia of flying....yes that's right....can't get in the godamn plane! Life's immediate demands (work, family, GF, bills, bills, bills) limit me in what I can get, that's why I want a preowed R32 and not a brad-spanking-new R34. If there is by chance a skyline around the NE, I can take a look and a drive to check it out instead of going to the pacific coast.
Your right about not knowing how to get one, that's why I started this string. I don't come to decesions lightly, and I don't like to waste my hard earned money on somethings that need not be.

skyline in NY?
Tell me more about the one in Brooklyn. What model / year is it? How long has it been there? Does it have any mods to it? Where did they get it from? How much? Any chance I could come and check it out?
