Fiberglass Quality...VIS vs. Type-S bumper
Fiberglass Quality...VIS vs. Type-S bumper
I was at the shop today where my roommates 240 is getting an SR put into it and they had another 240sx with a VIS fiberglass front bumper. Overall, i would say the quality of the fiberglass and how it was made FAR exceeds the quality of the CRAP the Type-S front bumper is made out of. The Fiberglass was exceptionally smooth, Fitment of the bumper was was near "perfect" for being fiberglass. It even had an attachable lip the bolted onto the fiberglass that fit perfectly. If any of you get a chance to check the quality of these bumpers to the quality of the Type-S you will see what i mean. I know for a fact because i have seen both in person and both unpainted.
For those that dont know, "VIS" makes bodykits and hoods for many different types of cars.

Easier said than done. Not many companies want to develop parts for us.

You've had the Type-s front bumper for month and a half. You never got back to me about getting the bumper replaced if the bumper is so badly damaged from the shipping. My offer to replace your damaged bumper is still on the table.

About the new bumper, it has been so long that i dont even think that the shipping company would take it back. Plus, i dont have anyone that would want to buy the other one and have no need for a new one because i already put a stock OEM bumper back on.

VIS makes pretty good stuff. But if you want to see real quality, look at some high end japanese body kits. I've looked at a couple up close, and the quality is unbelievable. But then again, it's $3K+ for the kit.

Yes, kits such as Veilside or Bomex are not even comparable, but for the VIS it is a different story. Vis bumpers go for about the same price if not the same as the the Skyline Type-S bumper goes for .
