What kind of brake pads are the best?

I have a 1996 maxima with horrible squeeling from the brakes. I am going to assume that i need new pads and resurfaced rotors. I am wondering what the consensus is on brake pads. Is it worth me buying new rotors and pads from brembo? I saw a kit for 259 for the front. and i am going to need front and rear. Let me know. I think the problem may be related to calipers. If anyone could describe to me how these little buggers are messing with my ride it would appreciated. Repair prices would be great as well.

it's a toss up between Axxis Metal Masters, EBC Green/Red Stuff, or Hawk...I'm running Axxis Metal Masters...I think there is another brand but can't remember it right now...

if ur car has stock brake parts then it will always squeel.. i have had a 95 and now have a 97 max and both have squeeled when i didn't need brake pads.. my friend also had a 95 and he changed everything from lines to calipers to rotors to pads and still had squeelin afterwards.. i dont know what it is but he works in a shop and says that all the maximas that are brought in always have brakes that squeel.. or u might just need new pads..

don't buy Nippon pads...they stop great but squeel a lot and are pretty dusty.

squeel doesn't imply your rotors need turning or replacement. rotors replacement is a function of their flatness and minimum thickness only.
