Help! Will this axle last?

My wife's '95 Max is grinding constantly from the driver side axle during forward movement. The boot is ripped and I know it needs to be fixed but Raxles can't get me a replacement until this weekend. What can I do to prolong the life of this axle just a little longer? Squirt some grease in the boot? This is approaching critical I'm affraid...

Many thanks!

Put some grease in by the CV jiont and tape it up with duck tape...should hold you out till the weekend, if you really need to use the car

can always get a rebuilt axle at a local car parts shop. About $50. Don't drive fast or hard. I drove 300 miles on an axle like that and It about fell apart when I pulled in the driveway. Dont drive at hwy speeds.
