any, i got some 1157s...and umm, they worked..except one was waay brighter than the other one. I concluded that it was a manufacturing defect, because since there are 2 filaments inside the bulb, one of em was lit with the upper one, and the opposite bulb was lit with the lower one.

anyway, i was reading a lot aout filing down a "nibble" on a 1156, and then it would fit on the 1157 clearance light socket. does this work? i'm REALLY worried about the bulb overheating (possibly exploding or melting something). people have said it was fine, but does anyone have any real proof (such as a time lapse of 1yr+) that the 1156 in the 1157 socket works? thanks

When you file down that single filament bulb, in theory, it wouldn't last as long as a dual filament. But, instead of just doing that, go out and get a 2057 bulb like I did. THE THING IS BRIGHT. It fits in the socket without a problem, and is bright. Try it, it is worth the 1.29 for the pack of two.

you probably put one of the bulb backward. thats why one is brighter than the other. one bulb lights up the 8w filment, the other is lighting up the 27w filment. the 1156 bulb works very well, but i haven't had it for more than a year, so i don't have "REAL PROOF".
