Bad Suspension?

Did anyone notice weak rear suspension on their maxima? I have 97 gxe and when going over bumps it feels loose and I feel every bump.
Sometimes it's really enoying .Is there anything I can do to fix this problem? Thanks

May be your rear struts are gone, if you are riding on factory ones, may be it's time to get replacements, use as much OEM parts at the suspension as your pocket can afford !

Re: Bad Suspension?

I have a 1996 QX, European model and experienced something similar. The shock absorbers where original and completely finished last year after about 130.000 km. I ordered new ones, a sports version and handling today is a dream, a new car.

if you do a search on blown suspension you will probably find a listing of symptoms of a busted suspension.

Strut and shock is the same thing right? Well i replaced one strut at the back not long ago , Can that rubber boot that protects around the strut is cut in many places, does it effect the strut.I dont think the shocks or struts whatever is called that it blown, because when i bounce the car to check the shocks it doesnt bounce up and down as it would be if the shocks are bad.

Sort of....

Struts and shocks should always be replaced as sets.

Can that rubber boot that protects around the strut is cut in many places, does it effect the strut.
It protects the piston from damage caused by dirt or road grit that your wheels throw up. You should put new dust boots on when you replace your struts and rear shocks. They will last much longer.
