anyone know this sound?

when I start up my car after it sits for a few hours it makes this reving noise..... its not the engine, i dont think. it might only be when it sits in the cold. i got it a month ago so i dont know. i turn the key and it makes the noise kind of like when you first start a vaccum. it lasts no longer then 2 seconds. i hope someone knows what im talking about. its kind of hard to explain.

once in a while i used to hear a scratching sound when the car sat for over 15 hours. I think it's from not enough oil being in the crankcase , and it that brief moment where it's being pumped up there.

It's the starter. Mine's been doing it for 2 yrs mostly in cold weather. You can fix it by taking it apart and greasing it (there's instructions on a site I saw - maybe search google for it).

Thats your heater. lol, on my car it does make the same sound. acutally if you have your heater all the way up it makes sound like air plane. you are good. nothing is wrong.
