Advice!!

I have a '99 Max' SE. I have had it for a while but finally decided to do some things to it. I wanna keep it looking stock - I don't wanna make it too sporty-like. I like luxury look better. Anyway, I'm planin' to lower it a little bit. I wanna put H&R springs but I don't wanna change the rims. Is this gonna look ok with the stock rims? Also, do I have to change my shocks due to the change of the springs? If I do, which shocks are the best for avoiding the stiff-bumpy ride? I want to keep my Max' riding soft.
Also, what's the best way to clean the engine. I got some pail up of beach sand all around my hoses and other things.
Please help me!

Thanks
Ed

Welcome to the forum...

Although you "should" change the struts (AGX are the recommended ones), the stiffer SE struts seem to be OK with the "softer" aftermarket springs. Mine were fine after replacing them even having them on 1 year with my Intrax. By changing them at the same time you save money on labor.

Slight lowering on the 16" rims aren't too bad looking.

BTW... please try to use a more descriptive thread title than "Advice!"

Try the "search" feature if/when our Admin re-enables the feature for more info.

I have H&R springs on stock struts and have had no problems. They have been on since Aug, 2001. I have pics on my homepage. I think the stock rims will be okay.
