Emma is dead!!!!!

Yup, my poor engine blew coming home from work last night. there's oil all over the engine bay, top to bottom. Not sure what fianlly gave out, but I'm not too stressed about it. I found a 98 engine with 28k miles that includes the upper intake for $248. I'm going to have my mechanic call them monday and find out more about it. But at least now, I can look into BOOST!!!!!!

Dont know the casue yet. She had 172k on her, but I know the two owners before me, and they both were really hard on the car. And I didnt help as hard as I've pushed her over the years. My mechanic called me today and said that I will deffinately need a new engine, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the one with 28k on it. Will I need to get a new ECU for a 98 since mines a 95, or should the engine just drop in?

I think it should work, as people have put 95-96 JWT ECUs in their 97s, I wouldn't be suprised if the service engine light came on though. I guess ya can't really complain.. 172k miles is quite a lot considering the car has been driven hard. I hope to get that much out of my car without any major repairs.

My car has about 104K on it now, but I don't drive it all that hard all the time... just at the track...

Sorry to hear about that, hope you get that '98 engine...

Well found out what happened.....

Piston exploded. Not good. Oh well, My mechanic is going to call about hte motor with 28k on it, as well as his supplier to see if he can match it. Labor will be $500 plus the cost of all the parts. Figure, I'll need new motor mounts, clutch, engine, and possibly a water pump, since I've been leaking water, and cant find where it's coming from. Fun this is, I have to pay for it all cash. He doesnt take cards, plus, I dont have any anymore..... I'm gonna be eating Ramen for awhile. LOL

Well, the engine is legit!!!!

28k, for $248. They have 9 of them (all low miles) and they arent moving, so they're priced to move. It comes with a 30 day warrantee, but for an extra $25 it gets bumped to a 90 day. so with shipping the whole thing will be around $375!!!!! The labor will be $500, and I need a clutch and new motor mounts, but hopefully I can come up with the $$$ to pay for it all......

VQs are cheaper than i thought.

i'm keeping my fingers crossed for my engine.. but it's a pretty cheap price
to completely revise the life of your car.

keep that contact - incase someone else needs an engine. that's a great deal..
