buying a 97/98 max.. tranny questions

ok im getting rid of my mazda 626 because the tranny is going out.. im gonna go out and look for a maxima today, but from all the cars i'd looked at there all AUTOMATIC i wanted a 5-spd to rid my head of replacing a tranny every certain period of time...

I was wondering if anyone has had any MAJOR problems with there auto trannies? I do plan on doing a conversion but not anytime soon.. I saw a post of someone burning there tranny with boost, i dont plan on putting that on the auto, what do you guys think??? Just bolt on mods until I can do the conversion..

I dont want something thats going to break on me like my 626

Nope! As long as you change the fluids regularly and switch over to synthetic you shouldn't have any probems..I have 60K on my auto and no problems..knock on wood..

its called the valve body modification AKA VB mod. It wont affect gas mileage, it'll just put less wear and tear on your gears
