Car starts, then dies...

When it's really cold out and I haven't started the car for hours (mornings), my max sometimes starts up then dies out after a second. This doesn't happen if I rev the engine when I start it up. Anyone know what the problem could be? I'm a little concerned.

The same exact thing happens to me.

All the time when it's really cold..

It could be a number of things but a lot of people tell me it's normal i don't pay much attention to it anymore.

You most likely have a bad Idle Air Coctrol Valve. Once the car heats up it runs ok right? But you have to keep on the gas in order to do this.

I've been having exactly the same problem! Sounds like a common Maxima prob.

What is an A.A.C. valve?

Thanks!

I have a similar problem - after I decoded the "engine light" it said I needed an Engine coolant temp sensor. Has anyone changed one of these before? I just bought one and I want to put it in but I don't want to mess anything up.

I think he means IAC valve, just what I said before. The symptoms you mention are common w/ a faulty IAC valve.
