axle changeout - what bolts to remove?

I'm putting in new axles today on my 97, and need to know if I have to unbolt the strut to get them out. It looks like it, but wanted to make sure. Thanks.

Unbolt

Unbolt at the bottom, two bolts. I used a foot-long 3/8 drive to get the 12mm bolts on the support bearing, instead of a open-end wrench most people try (and fail) with.

I unbolted the bottom 2 bolts on the strut . I was able to get the support bearing bolts with a closed-end wrench. The "bottom" 2 bolts I reached from underneath. The top bolt I reached with the boxed-end wrench by reaching straight in from the outside, sort of above the axle. Takes a little patience, but I was able to get it. Those bolts don't have too high a torque on them, thankfully.

ummm, HELLO, the struts do not need to be taken out to replace the axles. Some friends of mine and I did it on our friends Maxima. We didn't take the strut out!
