try to get the gas filter change, clean throttle body, flush engine oil, flush tranny oil, and make sure the tire pressure is right. that is all i can think of.

A big one is to check the tire pressure. I had one tire down to about 25 PSI one time and it was killing my mileage.

How would Gas filter cause the car to get less miles?

10 MPG is a big loss in mileage.

Look for a vaccuum leak, broken, or disconnected vacuum line.

Did you change PCV valve?

Have you checked your computer codes?? Just because the check engine light is not on, does not mean a code is not present due to a failed sensor. Car may be running in default mode.

Have you tried adding a good injector cleaner to the fuel tank?

How good are your battery and battery cables? If the voltage is low, or cable is loose, computer will keep resetting itself.

Is your odometer correct?
When all else fails,

Install a locking gas cap.

PCV valve? Knock Senser? Where can I find these parts cause my maxima is getting bad MPG too! I got a check engine light on for a "0803- Absolute Pressure Sensor." Anyone have an idea on what this is and how to fix it! Gas is getting as high as $2.30 for 91 here in Cali and i need to get this fixed asap!

all great ideas thanks

yea the gas filter was the last thing on my list, though a very important one. im having a diagnostic computer check tomorrow, to check the codes. odometer may be wrong, or even the gas gauge i thought. either way what a terrible time to be fillin my tank every 5 days. its ripped a holein my wallet so huge i cant pay for food.
IM DYING FELLAS
