I'm having a weird problem in my max, at WOT the rpms sometimes surge up and then almost lag a little and then the car seems to catch up and pull. Could this be a sensor going bad or signs of a failing clutch? Thanks

 

I know you mentioned clutch but just making shure if your 5sp or auto because autos do that alot.

 

Yeah its a five speed with about 80k miles on it, bought it used so I have no idea what kind of driving the previous owner did.
