headlight fuse for HID
just picked the kit up tonight from an orger and he recommended a fuse switch from the factory 15 to 25.
just want some opinions and count of what people are changing the fuse to.
i hear 20 and 25 so far

There is no need to change the fuse when you install an HID kit.
HID lights actually draw less current then standard type bulbs.
They work on a high voltage differential to ignite the gas inside the capsual. HID lighting is more energy efficient then standard lighting.
Another reason not to change that fuse is that your cars wiring is only able to handle up to the specified current draw. Allowing more current (high wattage bulbs) usually melts the wiring harness. We've all seen enough of that happen. With the correct fuse, the fuse blows before the wires melt.

i didn't see the need to change the fuse when i installed my custom HID kit. Just make sure your engine starts before you light it up, cuz it seems to take a crap load of energy to ignite the bulbs. It drained my battery a few times when I lit it up without having the car started. Can't wait to see pics of this kit, let me know when you have them up!
Only time I had to change the fuse was when I did the brighter corner lamp mod. At that time, it kept blowing out my fuse, so i changed it to 20w instead of the 15w i think... Something like that. Speaking of it, I should change it back to the original fuse since I made my corner lamps normal again.

You aren't actually igniting the gas. If you were, you'd run out of gas to ignite within a fraction of a second, with such a small amount of gas. You are exciting the electrons of the gas into higher orbitals. As the electrons fall back to lower levels, they release light.

is the 15 fuse sufficient for the burst of energy needed to ignite? i understand that after that, the hid will draw less current.
if the 15 is indeed good enough, ill leave it at that to be safe
