My 99 Gle didn't come with abs or a sunroof. I have always thought this was kinda strange. Is this normal for a gle? Somebody in this forum told me that ABS was standard on all gle's from 97 up. Any truth to that? (obviously not true in my case)

 

abs is not standard, but a sunroof should be

 

I know abs is not standard on 97 GLE's becuase mine doesn't have it. I did think it became standard on 98+ GLE's but I am not positive. I am almost positive the GLE's came with the sunroof package which included leather? Are you sure you have a GLE? Does it have the badge on the back?

Yup, leather, bose, cruise, power seats, auto climate. Just no sunroof or abs! I couldn't believe it didn't come with at least a sunroof. I'm 100% sure it's a gle. It says so on my title and the original paperwork with the car. Crazy huh?

 

It also has the gle badge on the back.

 

the only options on GLE's are sunroof, heated seats(or starting in 98 Deluxe PKG which included Side air bags) and ABS, every thing else came standard. Also in 99 traction control was also an option for Auto's

 

does the car have a salvage title?? its supposed to have a sunroof, maybe it was totalled and they had a new roof welded on

 

the sunfoor has always been an option, so it is possible to have a GLE without one, these a GLE at my local dealer right now without a sunroof

 

Nope.. clear title. I guess i just have the most bone stock gle you can get. Maybe it's a race version... with so much much less weight because of the lack of abs. Yeah right. Gle type-r!

 

I just parted out a 99 GLE that had everything leather bose climate control BUT no sunroof. I was kinda amazed on that too.

MY 99 GLE comes with ABS and SUNroof, but no Fog lights oh i dont really use the sunroof, i mean its not big deal. but i really like the abs. it helps a lot.

 

No foglights here either. The sunroof I can live without but the ABS is nice to have in 99% of situations. Except of course when you want to send your car into an *** out slide.. no abs makes it so much easier!
