Warm Weather and O2 Sensors

So since winter started my check engine light hasn't been on at all, now as it is starting to get warmer out, it came back on. I know it's for Front R/L Bank O2 sensors and the Knock Sensor. I am curious why/how warmer weather affects them. Thoughts?

thats funny, cause on my 1995 subaru legacy the CEL comes on for the O2 sensor when it gets cold. as soon as it warms up outside, the CEL goes away. i figure that its a wire short somewhere.

I have the same on my max I think it's the o2 sensor heater, which is part of the o2 sensor itself.

My 02 sensor just went off too. I got into an accident about two months ago. The shop fixed it back up and when I got the car back the 02 sensor came on. I got a suggestion from another maxima.org member to try and clean the sensor. It seemed like a good idea until I looked at my total mileage. It seems I have almost 90K miles on my car. So I figure I need a new 02 sensor.

Sux. Can anyone provide the link to the thread about cleaning your own 02 sensor? Thanks!

Mine were replaced during the emissons campaign a while back, but that was when I had 80k on the car. Now I have 140k, I guess I will have to replace them. Anyone know of a place that has a deal on them?

I had a bad experience with Foreign Parts Place
purchasing an oxygen sensor. The sensor had
a manufacturing defect and it took over one
month to get the defective part replaced.
