adding oem fog lights on '99 GXE

Is is possible to add OEM fog lights to my '99 GXE? I have seen wire harnesses near the fog light location in front of the radiator. Are these to plug fog lights in? Do I need to add a new variable wiper switch with the fog light turn-on switch. Any info would be appreciated.

you'll have to get a new light switch, not a variable speed wiper switch. the new light switch will have a fog light switch on it

I recenty bought a fog light kit but all I needed was the lights. I still have the brackets and the switch. If you can locate some fogs for cheap and need the rest of the kit, let me know.

Thanks Freedog, I'll try and hunt down some cheap oem fogs. Any place of the top of your head that might have 'em? I'll try some junk yards.

How much is it? If it's from the dealership, I'll probably have to finance it

I would call and check to make sure that it comes with the two lamps, the stalk, the relays etc...that looks like the kit I got a few yra back.

Well, here's the deal. I ended up buying the kit because I couldn't find a cheap pair anywhere and it was cheaper to buy the whole kit from Nissan than to buy each light. Go figure. I have seen other people get them from junkyards or from other org members. You could also try E-bay. It's pretty much about luck and timing. I just figure I would offer my parts in case you lucked out. If you luck out, let me know and we can talk about price. I wont ask much because really, what do I need brackets for?

fog lights

Nick and Freedog,

Thanks for your info, that helps me alot. When I was an Internet manager at a Nissan dealership, one of my own service writers said that I literally couldn't put oem fogs on my maxima because of the wiring, and wiper stalk. That is obviously wrong, he also said ZI couldn't put oem keyless in either. He's probably wrong there too. Oh well, he gave me $8 oil changes, free car detailing, and warantied some work for free that shouldn't have been done for free, so I can't complain that much.
