Anyone know about the power out put of the jap motors, both turbo and non-turbo. I thought of getting the turbo and running the SC on top of the turbo, don't know if I have the ca$h for it.

P.S. How do I post pics?

What do you mean jap motors???

Are you talking about the Cefiro motor?
Or do want to know how much HP a Max engine would have with a SC and a Turbo? It all depends on what size pully you put on the SC and if you have a Auto or 5spd.Also I don' think you could do a SC and a Turbo at the same time, because you only have one intake manifold therefor air can only be rushed in by one sorce not 2 like SC and Turbo. If you put a SC on a 5spd max with say a 3.51 pully with all the other mods you could see as much as 300 HP at the crank.BTW maybe you could do a SC and Turbo at the same time because I know you can have a SC and Nitrous at the same time so maybe just maybe.

I've read of cars that were both Supercharged and turboed, but then it all comes down to $$$. Everything is possible, even if your car doesn't end up being much like a max anymore

He wants a low compression motor so he can run up the boost on the SC? right?

maybe it is possible to run it like a supra or 300zx. Having one turbo run into the other larger one... Maybe you can have the SC running into the turbo to make it spool faster. I dont see the point though unless you have your engine built up like crazy because it can only take soo much boost.

Jap specs

VQ30DE- 222hp
VQ30DET- 270hp

its possible to supercharge a turbocharged engine, but i'd rather do one of these options properly.

Thanks for the info, where did you find the specs on the jap motor? The reason I ask is I wonder if it the ecu that helps the jap "e" version reach 220hp? I think I'll just locate a 95-96 motor with low miles and build it up and add the SC. As far as the turbo with an SC, from what I understand its set up similar to a twin turbo with the SC to help spool the turbo but I still I'm not sure how that would work with the intake manifold set up, but it was just a thought!

It's prolly just the same changes they made to the 5th gen Max. They have the same hp rating(222) when normally aspirated.
