Should I challenge my friend to a rematch?

We raced last week. He has a 2000 Honda Accord V6 auto and I had a 96 gxe auto stock.(I took off my intake for my new car) He destroyed me from 35-85mph(3cars) and he had his gf with him. I was alone.

...fast forward one week...

I bought my 96 se 5speed and installed frankencar intake. SHould I challenge him to race or it's not even worth it. I can drive the car real well when driving normal. but I never raced it yet(except for that 5.0 Mustang couple nights ago-I won, with horrible shifting).

The V6 accords have 240hp and that damn vtech. Should I race again?

The 2000 honda accord has 200hp and 200ftlb, not to mention it is a bit heavier than your max, and he had his girlfriend with him. You shouldn't have lost period, now that you have a 5 speed he shouldn't even be able to read your license plate at the end of the race... of course you lost before so who knows....

Why

If the cars got 200hp and 200tq, why should he not even be able to see the license plate? the accord seems pretty competative. a few hundred extra pounds wont cause the accord to be THAT far behind.
Although now you have a 5sp and hes got an auto. that'll help.

Re: Why

Are you sure they have 200hp and not 240? cause the 2003 accord v6 has 240. Did they change it in between 2000-03? If so what year?

Is it a 2-door or 4-door accord v6?

It would be close, period. Auto VS auto. Now that you have a 5sp though, you should have no problem taking him.

As for the Accord, only the '03s have 240hp, and they arent as fast as they sound. I was neck and neck with my cousins '03 5-sp auto coupe. I started to pull on her sliiightly as we reached 100. Granted this was with my Y-pipe and such. Their runners, thats for sure. Dont try a 6-sp though.

As for the 2000, no problem killin it.

I don't know man. When we raced he walked me real bad. I was like, WTF. We were both bone stock, except my 17" rims.

He's in CT now so we'll race when he gets back. Today woulda been nice, the weather was perfect. 55 degrees, clear sky, no wind, dry roads!

I really gotta work on my shifting cause I wanna make him look like a fool when we race. I do give him mad props tho, he smoked my a**.

You had an auto, now you got a 5spd. It's night and day between an auto vs. 5spd Maxima. A bone stock 5spd Maxima still would be able to take out a lightly modded auto with no problems. That should give you some idea on the difference. You should have no problems taking him out now that you have a 5spd. And only the newest '03 Accords have 240hp and stick shift.

the 17s do have a slight bit to do with it, but not him walking on you. Your car was probably not healthy, needed a tune-up or something...
