As everyone knows the filter that comes with the bomez cai is a piece of crap, plus the size of it is really small. So anyone out there have this cai and find out what the largest size K&N filter would fit on it, if there is any fitment issues in the fender past the 3in hole we gotta drill to install this sucker. From what I have read the placeracing cai is almost similar to the bomez so would the K&N largest size for PR cai fit the bomez also? And only one more thing, anyone have a template for the 3in hole ya gotta drill in the corner, it would be appreciated, if the PR cai is so similar I would assume that template would work for the bomez. so out of all the maxima owners out there, no one has an answer??? I wanna install my cai but wish to put a better air filter on it before I do so, and since im on spring break, and just washed and waxed the girl would like to add some mod's to her before I get back to school... so anyone know at all??

 

I emailed a guy who sells these on ebay with K&N filters, and he said he would provide either a K&N #RU-3570 or K&N #RE-0930

RU-3570 is 5" long, 6" diameter at the mount, 5-1/8" diameter at the end. Cost is $36.69 at Summit Racing 1-800-230-3030

RE-0930 is 6"" long, 6" diameter at the mount, 4-5/8" diameter the end. Price is $38.69 at Summit Racing

Both mount to a 3" pipe.

I have no personal experience fitting either to the Maxima. This ebay vendor sells the Bomz unit with either of these filters for $110, while another vendor sells a K&N equipped Bomz unit for $85, but it comes with a much smaller K&N filter, and shipping costs more.

I guess filters this large fit... Anyone know for sure?
