help, grinding noise

Every time I start my car it makes a grinding noise, something like if the car was already on and you tried to turn the key again, it's that kind of noise. I don't know if it's the starter but the car does start fine, except for the damn grinding noise. Does anyone have a clue to what it is? Thanks

Your starter needs to be regreased.

Go here - www.motorvate.ca and look under starter fix.

It's an easy job, good luck!

I checked that site out and it was for the stater making a screeching noise not a grinding noise. It makes a metal on metal grinding noise like you are trying to start the car after it's already started.

I wouldnt replace the starter unless I had to. If worse comes to worse, Ill get her a new starter, but hopefully both me and nick1020 can fix our problems
