You will need 9 of them.

they are actually very simple as long as your handy with electronics and can take things apart with ease.

i think i may be able to handle this... if not i will ask my brother... he is the expert.

but only one problem... i have a 98 maxima, and those directions are for 95-96 maximas. the link that explains the 97-99 is dead.

I don't think that those of us with 98-99's can do this mod. They changed the lights in the switches for our models, a$$holes! LOL

yes i have notice it also. i bought the bulbs already, went to radio shack and they didnt have the excat number they had this number. he told they even brighter. i am still going to attemp it. i dont think it will be hard. 98-99 shold be very similar. i also have 99 maxima. so we will see. here the number:
276-316
5mm Blue LED
3.7V 20mA 2600mcd.

I am going to do the back sit window. right side. so if something goes wrong i just replace that one and learn how to do it. but i am prety much sure they all the same 96-99.

I did this in my 95 using the 5V bulbs, because the 3.7V ones were way too bright. Front and back were easy. I have a 99 now, and I am almost 100% sure that the front switches are the same across ALL 4th gens (with the possible exception of the 99-Limited). The LEDs in the back switches are tiny little things that you can't really remove, but you can solder in a regular LED on top of them if you're careful. If you are not very careful, you can ruin the solder pads and then the light will never work (even putting a new bulb in won't work). Trust me.. I killed both rear switch bulbs a couple of weeks ago trying this.
