The evils of EBAY ( suspension parts)

There is a guy on there selling ( get this): KYB AGX's, Eibach springs, and Stillen camber plates for 550. OK, we all know that is a steal as a deal, but his total auctions is small, and he only wants a cashier's check or money order.

Ahhhh, the evils of EBAY- to bid or not to bid.

ANY suggestions?

BTW - my stock stuff is starting to wear thin.

I will never pay money order again. I got my money stolen ($200) in Canada and it took about 2 months to get it back...I nearly gave up...but with persistent calls and some help from some connections in Canada, the guy finally sent the money back via Western Union

Hey, thanks for the tip. Don't bother bidding: I'm buying them.

Just kidding.

Check his feedback. I did. He has never sold anything, only bought. And he has recently bought car parts for a Civic, BMW, and Mercedes. He may have bought Maxima suspension of Ebay, or bought it new for his kid like he said. He is selling a used intake kit off a Max, so his story "may" be true. The intake parts are dirty (look up close).

E-mail him personally and ask him questions. See if he will use an escrow account for payment. $550 is a lot to send to a stranger. Get an estimate for shipping too. Those parts will probably cost $55-100 via UPS.

I've been burned twice out of about 50 buys on E-bay (paid, never got stuff, or money back). Luckily, the amount was under $10 each time.

Good luck.

That sounds like a fair deal to me. Do you know how many miles are on the AGX's?

Supposedly, the parts were used for less than a month if not at all. I e-mailed him and his reply was " I am not out to rip someone off" HMMMM still not sure. He would not budge on the payment, so I am not going for it. I want the KYB AGX and am not sure on the springs- H&R or eibach???
WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK???

I want it to corner better, but not drive like my 4X4

I already did the FSTB, RSB, and RSTB ( a waste by the way)
I like to go fast, but its the 180 degree onramps that ROCK!

Thanks

just my two cents:

Paypal has a longer history of ripping off people than ebay sellers do. Search around, and you'll hear some horror stories. That's why i only use paypal as a last resort.

Correct me if I am wrong but that is a .ORG member selling his GC coilovers and all the above items...perhaps you may find this helpful if you can determine the member...someone who was leaving for the service and left the parts there...I know I remember seeing that in the last couple days.

Leave the link and we may be able to help you...

YUP- that was the one- anyone know any history???

If its an .org member- should not be a big thing ( feel bad for them having to go)

He got back to me and is offering 570 COD.

Well?

( you only live once right?)

I think it is safe to say the price and condition seem acceptable...

if I was a member in need of flexible suspension. ... I would jump all over this package.

but of course I have spent WAY TOO MUCH $$$ on EBay in the last 5 years

It's your money, it's your choice. Personally, with things like suspension and electrical components, i would go brand new. Just for the piece of mind that it works, and is warrenteed, and that the guy i'm buying it from won't take the money and run. $570 is not pocket change for me, so i would not want to take the risk of getting burned, but if you think it's worth it, go for it, and good luck.
