today check engine light came on , i pulled the codes and came up
54 =Automatic Transmission Control Unit Signal to ECU and
53 =Front Right Heated O2 sensor

if the front o2 sensor code came on is that a definate sign that i need to replace it or can it be a ghost code like knock sensor code where it will say its that but meanwhile it turns out to be something else?
i do not want to replace it if i dont have to

also what the hell is code 54 =Automatic Transmission Control Unit Signal?
i do not understand what this code means , and how would i approach diagnosing it?
what effect will this code have if left without fixing ?
