Knock Sensor info needed.
Knock Sensor info needed.
I just pulled the 03 04 code, which I found out was my Knock Sensor. I have never tried to do any research on this, so I was wondering if someone could help?
Could I still expect the car to perform normally with a bad KS?
Will performance suffer form a bad KS?
Where is the best/most economical place to get a new KS?
What are reasons that a KS goes bad?
thanks for any help in advance.

may help ya
From what I can say with my experience with knock sensors, is that when the knock sensor "senses" somethign in your engine thats not suppose to be happening, it sends a signal, which then "retards" the timing, so that in the furure there can be no damage. By "retard the timing" I mean that your idling might feel bumpy and weird, your acceleration wont be smooth, you will feel loss of power, and others. It does a lot of bad things, but ti does it to save your engine. Just my 2 cents.
