Octane and Engine

I was wondering if you are using the cheapest gas, low octane, could that cause your check engine light to go on, could the gas affect the knock sensor or the o2 sensors?

The chances that a bad tank of gas would cause enough problems to trip the light are pretty remote. It would have to be a pretty serious issue.

Info on codes is here: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....hreadid=104931

I used 87 95% of the time on my 96 GXE and NEVER had ANY problem mentoned here. 87 gas is acceptable said in owner's manual so don't worry about it.
